What are the opportunities in STEM fields and how can I get there, too?
These simple yet significant questions were asked numerous times by the young women who showed interest yet felt out of place when it comes to learning more about STEM. Many of these young women with curious minds come from communities where no ones expects them to succeed, nevermind showing interest in learning.
Knowing that there is a wide population formed of diverse young people who are eager to learn, I quickly learned that diversity exists yet not everyone is included in the conversation.
With the Fourth Industrial Revolution here, which is more digital than ever, we know that what we learned 20 years ago is not necessarily relevant today and, in order to keep up with today’s innovative job market, one has to be exposed to learning that is pioneering and ground-breaking as early as possible.
