The hEr VOLUTION Ambassador Program is an exciting opportunity for young women to demonstrate STEM promotion and passion for improving gender equity in STEM. As an ambassador, you will create new opportunities for students, alumni, and STEM industry related companies to get involved with hEr VOLUTION. This program is a great way to enhance your leadership skills, learn more about STEM, and build a strong network of professionals.

You will work closely with your team to plan and execute various campaigns to help elevate the benefits of STEM for young womxn who are facing multiple barriers to entry a career in STEM.

Who can apply:

  • Students or young professionals aged 17-25 interested in or pursuing a career in STEM
  • Those able to commit to 1-3 years as an Ambassador
  • Those currently residing in Ontario, Canada
  • Former hEr VOLUTION students are encouraged to apply

I joined the Ambassador Program because I thought it was a great opportunity for me to get more involved in my community and make a difference. I also wanted to continue to work with hEr VOLUTION after being a part of their STEMing UP program. Throughout the Ambassador Program, I was able to meet so many amazing people that helped me learn more about how I can spread hEr VOLUTION’s message and goals by getting to help run different programs and advertise on social media. Overall, I learned a lot and got so many new opportunities!

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Social media promotion
  • Workshop design and facilitation
  • Participation in GO!stem
  • Speaking at schools (virtually)
  • Presenting to and networking with potential collaborators and investors
  • Promoting and raising funds for hEr VOLUTION
  • Attending regular team meetings
  • Attend events, media interviews, and other activities representing hEr VOLUTION

I joined the Ambassador Program because I was already promoting hEr VOLUTION to everyone I know, and this allowed me to continue doing so in a more formal capacity. As an Ambassador, I was able to see all the behind the scenes workings that go into running programs like GO!stem, and have a direct hand in their planning and administration. I was given the opportunity to teach coding lessons, network on behalf of the organization, and work with an awesome team. Through the Ambassador Program I gained a greater understanding and appreciation of hEr VOLUTION’s impact, which has led me to many opportunities since.
