What Impact did we make in 2020? #Impact2020 Program Highlights

Youth Board

In 2020, we voted in our Youth Committee Members with a seat at the Board to further develop leadership skills, while amplifying the voices of diverse young women interested in entering STEM fields. We look forward to see more young leaders breaking barriers in our communities and we’ll report more on this in 2021 with positive outcomes.

Ambassador Program

2020 was the inaugural year of the Ambassador Program. Supported by WSP, we welcomed four Ambassadors who worked really hard to raise funds during the #GivingTuesdayNow campaign, trying to outreach during the hard months of COVID-19 and facilitating the GO!stem program alongside professionals from GM and Salesforce Canada.

GO!stem Program

We are very happy to announce the continuous partnership with Salesforce Canada for the 6th year and happy to have welcomed GM Canada for the first time to our popular GO!stem program. Additionally, City of Toronto continues to take a major step forward to support the next generation of girls through the proclamation of hEr VOLUTION’s GO!stem Week.

STEMing UP Program

Despite the challenges this year brought upon us, our STEMing UP program has seen one of the best participations yet. We owe it all to our partners at Shopify, Slack, Citrix Canada and the Government of Canada, who stepped up to support not only with funding, but, with help in pivoting our program to virtual learning.

hEr VOLUTION Names 7 Influential Young Women in STEM to Youth Committee Board

Promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to Young Women & Girls.

TORONTO, ON Canada – February 14th, 2019 – Toronto based non-profit organization, hEr VOLUTION, which focuses on inspiring girls and young women facing multiple barriers to embrace STEM careers, is proud to announce the appointment of seven influential young women to the organization’s Youth Committee Board.

“ Our organization focuses on breaking barriers and create opportiunities for young women in STEM. Because of that, it makes sense for our organization to be an inclusive space where young women continue to have their voices integrated in our decisions making process moving forward.

These young women were chosen based on their dedication and commitment to our mission and for their enthusiasm in supporting young women like themselves while bringing their lived experiences at the table in order for us to make an impact in their future. This is also a great opportunity for them to have an experiential learning in leading an organization while obtaining board experience at an young age.

I see the committee members as a great asset to leading the organization forward and visionary mentors who play vital roles as leaders in STEM industries.“ says Doina Oncel, Founder of hEr VOLUTION.
